Non-symmetric matching information for negotiation support in electronic markets

چکیده
Electronic markets are virtual meeting places where buyers and sellers meet and interact to trade products or services. In this paper, we consider an agent-based information system to support the ongoing negotiations among the traders in such a market. The information system's agents are active within certain market categories of which they carry a multi-criteria description. This enables the specification of a Request for Quotes (RFQ)/Request for Proposals (RFP) protocol through which the negotiations are conducted. We illustrate this approach for the specific case of an electronic market for diamonds, and we motivate the importance of providing relevant matching information to the market participants. We explore a nonsymmetric matching technique based on the composition of fuzzy relations first proposed by Bandler and Kohout. We show how these compositions allow us to express various significant matching relations among the market participants and the market products. We argue that this information is crucial to improve the effectiveness of market negotiations.

Intelligent Clearinghouse: Electronic Marketplace with Computer-Mediated Negotiation Supports
In this paper, we propose an intelligent clearinghouse, an electronic marketplace with computer-mediated negotiation that supported with both data and textual information about the dynamic markets. Most existing electronic market systems support relatively stable markets: traders are not allowed to revise their bids and offers once they are entered to the system. The intelligent clearinghouse a...
متن کاملImproving Agent Performance for Multi-Resource Negotiation Using Learning Automata and Case-Based Reasoning
In electronic commerce markets, agents often should acquire multiple resources to fulfil a high-level task. In order to attain such resources they need to compete with each other. In multi-agent environments, in which competition is involved, negotiation would be an interaction between agents in order to reach an agreement on resource allocation and to be coordinated with each other. In recent ...
متن کاملA Virtual Property Agency: Electronic Market with Support of Negotiation
To have an efficient and reliable infrastructure is crucial to any electronic market. Most existing electronic markets only provide limited services, such as, communication supports between buyers and sellers, databases to increase the selections, and market information to help estimation of reasonable transaction prices. In this paper, we propose a new electronic market, an Internet-based clea...
متن کاملA DSS-Based Dynamic Programming for Finding Optimal Markets Using Neural Networks and Pricing
One of the substantial challenges in marketing efforts is determining optimal markets, specifically in market segmentation. The problem is more controversial in electronic commerce and electronic marketing. Consumer behaviour is influenced by different factors and thus varies in different time periods. These dynamic impacts lead to the uncertain behaviour of consumers and therefore harden the t...
متن کاملEffects of Electronic Markets on Negotiation Processes
Negotiation can be regarded as playing a game with certain rules. If the rules change, the game has to be played differently. Compared to traditional markets, electronic markets can have fundamentally different characteristics such as cost structure or the level of transparency. These differences have already stimulated the tremendous success of one breed of electronic market negotiations: auct...
